Last night I saw the “Pittsburgh Festival of Lights” in downtown Pittsburgh. My favorite was the Tiffany glass-inspired design by the French artist Lucette de Rugy projected on the Omni William Penn Hotel. Incredible! The lights are only up for two more nights, so for those of you who live in Pittsburgh, it’s worth a visit.

My uncle lives in Denmark, and my mother and I went to visit him a few weeks ago. He lives in a public institution (he’s Danish), though the word ‘institution’ hardly fits since it is such an amazing place! He has down syndrome and is autistic, and doesn’t speak any words, and is a very sweet guy. It’s wonderful to know he’s so well-cared for, and that places like the one he’s in exist in the world.

I love Denmark:
Many of you will recognize Brad; he’s helped me as a second shooter for lots of weddings. And now I had the privilege to photograph his wedding! Brad and Christina got married on June 16 at Saint Joseph’s church in O’Hara, with the reception at the lovely Morning Glory Inn. Congratulations Christina and Brad!

Beth and Michael got married on June 2. What a beautiful (and hot!) day it was. The ceremony was at Heinz Chapel, and the reception at the Sheraton Station Square.

Lisa and Steve got married over Memorial Day weekend. I photographed their engagement photos earlier in the fall, and have enjoyed getting to know them. And they are such a fun couple (see the jumping pic below)!
